Uniforms

Welcome to Cy Woods Band! Our year starts with marching band and ends with concert band. The district provides part of the uniform, however, students are responsible for purchasing uniform pieces as well. We recommend buying all uniform pieces before school starts so students are prepared and ready for the year!

What do I need to buy?

Marching Season (July-November)

These required uniform pieces will need to be purchased: 

  • Custom marching jacket ($110 uniform fee that was due in June)

  • Red dri fit band shirt (recommend owning 2)

  • Grey dri fit band shirt (recommend owning 1)

  • Black band shorts (recommend owning 2)

  • Tall black socks that reach the calf - no logos or designs visible (recommend owning at least 4 pairs)

  • Viper marching shoes 

  • Garment bag

  • White rehearsal gloves are recommended for brass and silver instruments, but not required

 

Concert Season (November-May)

There are 3 concert uniform options. Please purchase the required uniform pieces for the option your student plans to wear:

OPTION 1: Tuxedo (tux jacket, pants, bow tie, & cummerbund provided by the school):

  • Tall black dress socks

  • Black dress shoes (marching vipers may be used if they are in good condition)

OPTION 2: Ladies concert top and dress pants (top and pants provided by the school):

  • Tall black stockings

  • Black dress shoes (flat or low heel - we walk a lot)

OPTION 3: Ladies Cadenza dress (purchased by student)

In addition to concert uniforms, there may be occasions when your student will need Concert Black attire. It’s a good idea to have the following articles of clothing if/when students needs to wear Concert Black:

  • Black long sleeve button down shirt or long sleeve top

  • Black slacks

  • Black dress shoes (flat or low heel for ladies)

 

           General Uniform Notes

  • Uniforms DO NOT GO HOME. They stay at school on the uniform rack.

  • We DO NOT EAT in uniforms.

  • We drink ONLY WATER in uniforms. 

  • A poncho will be assigned to each student. It must be returned at the end of marching season or students must pay to replace lost ponchos.
